TBN Member Myriam Harley is Director of Hagar UK, the United Kingdom arm of Hagar International, which many TBN Members will have heard of. Hagar is an international organisation which works with women and children who have survived extreme cases of abuse and exploitation. It also runs social enterprises which provides the women with their first formal employment and provides them with experience and skills.
Hagar is recruiting for two positions: Board Chairman for Hagar UK and Operations Director for Hagar Cambodia.
Board Chairman for Hagar UK
Hagar UK is London based with the primary purpose of raising funds for Hagar’s programmes around the world. They need a dedicated and experienced individual to join the Hagar UK Board of Trustees as Chair – this is an unpaid position. This person will provide strategic guidance, governance and leadership to Hagar UK, using their networks to educate the public about Hagar’s work and assist with fundraising. The Chair will also plan and Chair meetings, along with growing and developing the Board.

Operations Director for Hagar Cambodia
Hagar Cambodia is seeking an individual to fulfil the vacant role of Operations Director to provide strategic oversight, leadership and results-based management of Hagar’s core operations. The role is based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The individual should have program management experience of an international NGO, providing social services, acquisition of government/multilateral grants/contracts and cross-cultural experience in S.E. Asia.

Social Enterprise Director for Hagar Social Enterprise Group

They have 2 social enterprise investments: Joma Bakery Cafe and Hagar Catering & Facilities Management. The Social Enterprise Director will lead the strategic expansion of HSEG’s social enterprise activities, including the development of a start-up social business in Afghanistan and new joint ventures in Southeast Asia. The right person should be entrepreneurial with strong businesses acumen, have a passion for seeing ideas come to life, committed to social justice, experienced with Asian cultures and flexible–being able to work between the private sector and the development sector.
