Innovative ‘solar bottles’

An amazingly innovative idea tuns waste plastic bottles into solar-powered lights, embedded into roofs and providing safe, non-electrical (useful for tightly packed housing and flaky electricity provision) light for free. This initiative, a project designed and developed by students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and implemented by MyShelter Foundation, is already transforming lives of low-income people in the Philippines.
