On 7th April Transformational Business Network (TBN) Kenya launched its inaugural Scale for Success programme. TBN is a global network of investors and entrepreneurs, that catalyses purpose-driven entrepreneurs, builds impactful businesses and unlocks investments in emerging and frontier markets.

In his keynote speech James Mworia, CEO of Centum Investments, emphasized on the growth opportunities available to SMEs from humble beginnings to big companies if they invest in their human capital – the people. "Capital without human capability is useless" he stated.

A panel discussion on 'How to Scale a Business' was comprised of KEPSA CEO Carole Kariuki, TBN Founder Dr. Kim Tan, TBN Kenya Chair Ken Wathome, VisionFund trustee Michael Mithika and moderated by TBN International CEO Reuben Coulter.  Dr Kim Tan made his call for SMEs to make good use of the mentors and coaches as their experience is golden. He also advised Africa to look towards local entrepreneurs as they will change the fortunes of their countries and the continent as a whole.

The event closed with the recognition of the 17 purpose-driven entrepreneurs who will engage with the Scale for Success programme over the next six months. They will received mentoring, coaching and technical expertise to build the capacity of their business and prepare them for investment and growth. Reuben Coulter challenged the entrepreneurs saying "You are the future. If you commit yourselves wholeheartedly and maintain humility and integrity then you will ultimately be successful."
